Data controller

Data we collect

• Enquiry forms: name, email address, selected engagement interest, and message content
• Email and phone: correspondence you initiate
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited when analytics cookies are accepted (see our cookie notice)
• Engagement data: business contact details and materials you provide once a letter of engagement is signed (governed additionally by that letter)

We do not ask for payroll employee personal data through the public website form. Client materials shared during audits are handled under engagement confidentiality terms.

Purposes and legal bases

• Responding to enquiries and scheduling scoping calls (legitimate interests / steps prior to contract)
• Performing contracted audit services (contract performance)
• Improving site reliability and understanding aggregate visit patterns when analytics are consented (consent)
• Meeting legal and accounting obligations (legal obligation)

Retention

• Unsuccessful enquiries: typically 24 months
• Client engagement records: retained for the period required by Japanese commercial and tax record-keeping practice, ordinarily at least seven years after engagement close
• Analytics data: per cookie durations described in the cookie notice

Sharing

We use service providers for email, hosting, and (if consented) analytics. They process data on our instructions. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information when required by Japanese law or competent authorities.

International transfers

Our primary operations are in Japan. If a provider processes data outside Japan, we take steps appropriate under applicable Japanese data protection guidance, including contractual safeguards where required.

Your rights

Subject to Japanese law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data, and you may withdraw cookie consent at any time via your browser or by contacting us. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission is perfectly secure; please avoid sending sensitive employee payroll files through the public enquiry form.

Children

This site is directed at business professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this notice; the date above will change accordingly.
